Corriere dello Sport has been reporting through their website on the details of Inter’s apparent deal for Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia.
The first derby of the season in a way for Inter as Milan were also close to the player. There is still no official status but Kondogbia is being spoke of as an Inter player.
The last meeting this morning between Inter and Monaco has apparently seen Erick Thohir give the green light and although there is confirmation by the Inter leadership and French leadership, Milan are still disputing the news that Kondogbia has chosen to accept a move to Roberto Mancini’s Inter project.
This will be Thohir’s most expensive signing since he took over as Inter had to battle Milan’s Adriano Galliani for the player’s services.
Marco Fassone and Piero Ausilio have had to offer more than the 35M Euro requested by Monaco. Kondogbia will now be the highest paid player of Inter who will make more than 4M Euro per season.
For Thohir it was really important to the economic effort that will be mitigated by the terms of payment which will be formalised in the coming hours/days.

So we’re buying a promising midfielder for 35 million, and selling a promising midfielder for 25-30 million…
So Inter are basically trading a midfielder for a midfielder, and then giving away 5-10 million euros…
I hope we can sign Konoplyanka for winger —> Free transfer and good skill
Rano can go, but we must get Schar (Another Free transfer) first
35M for him? Now no money for other quality players. This is crazy. We’ll finish 10th next season.
I have only seen him in Youtube videos and i really hope he justifies the money spent on him and his salary. I’m not bitching just that i’m scared, we really need players who can lead the team with their quality.
We brought Hernanes for 20 millions but he has been almost a flop for the whole time except the last few games that he improved a bit.
So until i see him play awesome and prove that our investment was smart i will remain suspicious waiting to see him playing first. And we need as well Kovacic, Shaqiri,Brozovic and Icardi to top their game. Icardi has been already pretty good this year but he has loads of room for improvement. And Mancini should really give some more space to Gnoukouri, the young guy is just great and with a strong midfield with the likes of Kongdobia, Kovacic, Brozovic he can develop perfectly without no pressure at all.
Forza Inter ^_^
Why or why do we do things the hard way. Kong 30mill +
Sami free wtf. Both effective but we have to spend big wtf
khedira signed for juventus
His pace remind me of Yaya.
and vieira
btw, if i remember correctly there was a gentlemen’s agreement between Ausilio and Galliani about Miranda, Imbula and Kondogbia – i hope Adriano is really mad now and will try everything to undermine Inter’s success by buying Kuzmanovic
And how much would it hurt us if he signed our captain rano! Oh god please no!!! Lol
if he signed johnathan inter would probably lose every game next season
Galiani will sign Jonathan. Lol
Great signing! Forza inter!
thanks thohir, you’re my God today . . . Forza Inter !
Guys don’t complain like dick heads ! This is what we wanted isn’t it ?
30m ? No problem . He has the potential and is only 22 . In a couple of years clubs will offer double or triple the amount for him .
AND DON’T WORRY ABOUT KOVA . I ENSURE YOU HE WON’T LEAVE ! we don’t see things the way the managers see it . They know what’s good for inter and what is bad . Just believe in tohir and mancio and ausilio .FORZA INTER !
I’m with you guys, interisti knows kovacic was a good player but everyone knows that kondogbia was a great player . . . Forza Inter.
Before anybody starts bitching about his price and salary, remember, we all wanted quality players, we all wanted a winning team and we want Inter to succeed. If they are offering that amount of money is because we can afford it. So please, lets all just be happy if Kondogbia comes. This is the kind of players everybody wants to see in their team and I’m sure he’e going to have a positive impact regardless of his price or salary. FORZA INTER!
You are damn right, I want to see this juggernaut in inter Milan midfield 😀
Yeah but 4m a season is a bit much not gonna lie.
yeah.. some fans, just trying so hard to look smart by bitching everything that our management do.. 🙂
He’s a good prospect… but 35M euro and highest salary for this young player (and newcomer to serie A)????!!! Let me remind you of M’Villa who was a big failure despite being touted as high rated MF. Anyway, the deal has happened and I just hope he can give the best for Inter squad. Kondogbia and Imbulla (if we can still get him) will be nice addition. Both of them with Kovacic/Hernanes and Brozovic will make our midfield area so powerful
m’villa is in decline when we got him…
and medal
Don’t compare Kondogbia with M’Vila. Kondogbia has Champions League experience and M’Vila was lost in the Russian League.
if we get kondo AND imbula, we almost certainly have to sell kova. as awesome of a midfield as that would be, i don’t think it’s going to happen
Overpaying for players is really not healthy long term, compare this deal to what juve payed for Vidal, u can’t tell me this guy is THAT much better than Vidal was when juve bought him from Leverkusen, whilst I’m happy we signed a quality player we still need to make smart financial decisions for the long term benefits. Juve can now sell Vidal for 5x the price they paid for him, I don’t think we’ll ever have that luxury for kondogbia
Trust me we will…and selling vidal for 5x what they got him for is around 60mill…in a couple fo years we can sell kondogbia for doube his price now which is 70 mill!!!!! He is a great player and I think we should all be so happy that we are signing proper players. From kuzmanovic, schelotto, dodo, nagatomo to kondogbia, imbula, miranda and murillo is a big step
U seem very confident….
I am very confident with the inflated prices. I mean it’s great business if you look at it. Arsenal are paying 55 mil for carvalho and we are paying 35.. I think this is great business and we can always sell him later on to real or barca (due to their midfielders fetish) for big sums. Handa, miranda, santon, kondogbia, kovacic, shaqiri and icardi.,.the potential here is mind blowing
You can add Murillo and Imbula to that list.
Find me a player of Vidal’s calibar that you can get today for 12-15 mil.. It’s simple as that. You can’t. It was a lucky break for Juve, nobody knew back then that he could get so good, they were hoping but noboby could know that for sure. Inter could bought some player in that range with potential and hope to become a world-class player but yout can’t know that.
With Kondogbia it is a less of a gamble, everyone knows that he is really good with unlimited potential.
It’s called good scouting u fool, paying 35 mill for a realitvely unproven commodity is questionable business, he’s going to end up being our 2nd biggest transfer ever!!! This puts him in that vieri/crespo category!! Is he really that good???
Just one word. YES.
And also I didn’t say today’s Vidal u could buy for 12/15 mill, at the time they bought him he was a quality 24 y/o midfielder and he happened to become a lot better but even if he didn’t improve much it was still a good purchase for them, with kondogbia he needs to perform at a very very high level otherwise we will lose money bigtime on this transfer, in any case I’m praying he turns out to be a superstar cos god knows we need that
I do agree with you. The same case goes for Pogba.
gorektzka is one
He had an awful season… And he is only 20 years old, like I said, no one can be sure that he will be a great player, it’s just too soon to tell. And even though he had a bad season, I don’t see Schalke letting one of thier german prospects cheap. 12-15 mil is cheap in today’s football.
PSG, UNITED, CITY, CHELSEA and REAL are bitching in the mercato and shoot the prices higher… 3 4 years ago 35 million was bomb
How about Pogba? They got it for free. But still, Kondo is a great addition for Inter squad.
