Inters Argentine hitman Mauro Icardi has been speaking to Mediaset Premium from Inters training camp in Brunico.
Here is what ‘Maurito’ had to say:
“Inter will have a great season, the club wants to do well and we’ll try to be a match for everyone.”
What do you think of the new signings?
“I already know Montoya, Kondogbia is tall and will really help because he covers so much ground. We dropped a lot of points last season, that can’t happen anymore, they’re more important than the goals I score. I hope things go well this year.”
Having recently signed a new contract, how much does the club mean to you?
“I’ve got close ties with Inter, I’ve chosen the club on two occasions. I like it here and I’m happy to be staying. I want to start again and give my all. We’ve not discussed me being captain.”
“That said, I still accept my responsibility. Things are going great with Mancio, he really keeps a close eye on me because he was a great forward himself and that’s improved our relationship.”
“We’ll see whether Juve will have anything to worry about. I’ll get a new tattoo if we win the Scudetto.”

FORZA MAURITO
I would have Maurito as captain over Ranocchia. He has nerves of steel. The whole team can be playing like shit, Mauro still shines and doesn’t give a damn. If he can transform his calmness and inspire the others with it, he can be a great cap.

Definitely agree with you. Icardi truly has nerves of steel. He scored against big clubs like Juventus, Roma, and Napoli last season. That penalty against Napoli was also the proof. He might be typical fox in the box striker but he is not so selfish. I saw some improvements under Mancio that he is more like a team player now. He is surely leading by action.
