He isn’t a proper CAM nor a CDM,He is a CM in a 4-3-3 or 4-3-1-2. Therefore it isn’t easy to play in a 4-2-3-1 for him.
iniesta is no CAM as well. iniesta plays as a CM(left) in a 433. i think a midifeld of kovacic-motta?-kondogbia is best suited for all our midfielders

Kovacic is experiencing the same problem faced by Iniesta in his early career at Barca. Iniesta started as DM > CM > but won BIG as CAM/LWF where he became one of the world greatest. With his great offensive talents, Kovacic should be given a free role offensive player. A very rare breed of offensive player, just like Iniesta.

Kova doesn’t have the courage to cut inside but has great through balls to feed the attacking trio in front of him. LCM if you ask me.

Brozovic can play on the other side and Kondogbia can be the DM. or Kovacic as a LCM, Kondogbia as RCM and Medel at DM.
Mancio has to push him to work on this ability. Not as a LCM, but a false winger, a position created by Rijkaard for Iniesta.
He already played on all positions in midfield plus left winger in like 5 different formations so far. It is obvious that he can’t adapt to Inter or Italian football or something.
I think that selling Kovacic for about 25 M would be much better choice than selling Shaqiri. There are teams in PL and La Liga that wouldn’t mind paying that price for him, and he would develop much better there. Keeping him is a big gamble, since his value could drop to about 12 M if he has another bad season. I hope that he will prove me wrong, though.
No need to bash Kova here. We all know that he’s physically weak, and probably struggles more than others in the pre-season. Also the grass on the field is crap, and affects technical players like him more. I just hope Mancini keeps his faith in him, I have no doubt that he will flourish next to Kondogbia and Brozovic/medel.

Imo, Kovacic at the moment is the less decisive player in our middlefield. Except hose few acceleration he does every game, for the rest he’s not good at defending and he always does back and horizontal useless passes. He surely is very talentous, great dribbling abilites and acceleration, but I don’t know how effective he’s actually gonna be next season. I mean, look at Brozovic, he’s way more skilled than Kovacic but more useful to the team beacuse his passes and movements .. or ami I just stupid? 😀

He needs to run with the ball more often. Those runs are there for him more often than he takes them. He wnt reach his full potential until he starts believing he’s better than this. He needs to play with more confidence.
Kovacic is a creative midfielder, Brozovic is more of a box to box midfielder.
That is because Mancini cannot use Kova properly. The fact that lesser player Brozo can function better than Kova is one evident.
BTW, when we meet really strong opponent, Kova will be far more decisive than Brozo even under Mancini.

Dimarco is looking really good but people, remember, this is a pre-season friendly vs Carpi. I mean there have been matches like this where players like Obi and such looked really amazing. He is definitely a hot prospect and wouldn’t mind having him on he bench but he is nowhere ready enough for starting XI in Serie A.
It is only pre-season friendly, you may be right. But look again Zoki, the way he decided to cross, and how he crossed it, and how it was placed rightly and confidence to take corner (even hernanes give it away to him), those are talents.

Most likely play 4-3-1-2. We have no wingers as theyre stupid in selling Shaq and Biabany is not likely to be a starter. So now we have no wingers and not even sure if were getting perisic or salah. Whichever we still need two and possibly a backup for them. Theyre selling the wrong people.
