There has been a lot of talk of the two players potentially swapping leagues with the Swiss player joining Schalke, and the Croatian Inter. La Gazzetta Dello Sport reports that Wolfsburg want to get as much as they can for Perisic, and could raise the 18 million euro pricetag. The German club would prefer an immediate sale as opposed to a loan with a forced option to buy; which is what Inter are currently offering. Xherdan Shaqiri is still not convinced by the prospect of joining Schalke. The Swiss international wants to complete the preseason tour in China. The alternative is Perotti of Genoa.

I know what you say and being optimistic I would also give Shaqiri other chances… but we are not in that financial position now (unfortunately deal was OBLIGATION to buy, not option) + we here on FIF cannot know the inside realities of the club (potential rows/attitude problems, technical matters, language barrier, work ethic in trainings, etc.). While Perisic is faster, more versatile and has a great finish with both feet, Shaq has better vision, very high work rate and is very hard to keep up with defensively. Plus he’s very young and can still develop a lot. I’d be happy with either one of them, but I don’t think Perotti can be compared on the same level.
Look Shaq had 0 workrate with us and with Bayern. he never ever track back and helps the team. I get what you are saying but to call players like Vidic leeches, given he played many games for us last year and was in decent form for the 2nd half of the season, is not just uncalled for it’s incorrect. Personally I agree we should move him on as he has 3M+ wages and likely won’t be first choice this season, however he is still a good player who would compete for a spot and could be useful if he stayed. And it’s his right if he doesn’t want to be moved onto a club he doesn’t want to join to say no… it’s up to Mancini and Inter management to convince him to leave if they’re desperate to get rid of him.

Both of them have the right to have a say in their destination club, whether it be the club, league, or wages that might be an issue. The contract ensures rights for both club and player. For the club the player can’t force a move or leave for free. For the player they get to decide if the terms of leaving are a better option than staying, under the terms of the agreement they agreed with the club.
I would also be annoyed if benchwarmers were refusing to leave for any destination but that’s clearly not the case here. And in any event there is no need to be disrespectful to players who, by all accounts, do try too give their all for the club.
