Former Napoli, Parma, Chelsea and Cagliari player Gianfranco Zola has been giving his opinion to Sky Sport 24 on the upcoming Scudetto race ahead of the new Serie A season.
Zola, a coach now, was speaking from Pinzolo where he has his new club Al-Arabi in a training camp.
“I think Inter and Roma have reinforced and will bring the gap closer but Juventus are still stronger. I’m curious to see the imprint that Maurizio Sarri will give Napoli and also the technical design of Sinisa Mihajlovic at AC Milan which convinces me.”

Pay attention to the garbage first touch and ball control, the poor passing (almost always poorly timed or backwards). The only thing he can do is shoot, even his goal was a lucky rebound goal.
He is a good player.In this match he was our best player.He deserve second chance.So many crap players received second or even third chance in last four years..
he did OK but wasted so many chances against an open Celtic side. Look how frustrated Palacio was playing along side him, look how many times the strikers had to redo their runs because he takes too long to release the ball… everytime they run then have to run back because Shaq doesn’t look up. In that match Guarin was the best player but he nevers gets credit because everybody loves hating him.
Yes many players got a second chance but I don’t think there is space anymore for him. Hernanes and Jovetic will cover the AMF role, Palacio Jovetic and Icardi will be the Forwards. He will be either 3rd or 4th choice.
With the way his first touch is and how far he kicks the ball in front of him he will never be effective in Serie A. The way it is I even see Biabiany getting the nod in front of him since he can at least take on his man and does a lot of tracking back for the team. Biabiany will be Palacio’s main competitor. Hernanes will have to compete with Jojo (since Jojo’s most natural position is SS/Trequartista) and Icardi will get his CF competitor (hopefully Drogba).
I just don’t see anyroom for Shaq, we don’t use wingers. The only place he would be usefull is at LB an I think he would actually excell as an attacking LB. If he stays I hope he will accept trying out that role. He’s a very raw player.
I don’t think so.Hernanes is a complete mistake.He is inconstant,physical he is weak and his fitness is dissaster.Also he is 30 year old and he can’t develop very much.Palacio concerns same thing.Shaqiri is definitly better player.Also he can play as a winger,atacking midfielder or even second striker.We will be more diverse with him.Also he is young player and can develop drastically.
but with all that criticism Hernanes took Shaqiri’s spot fore the rest of the season. Shaq could never break into the starting 11 because Hernanes was superior…. He couldn’t displace Palacio either.
