Galatasaray President Dursun Ozbek has been speaking to ‘Hurriyet’ about the situation with regard to the transfer of Felipe Melo as well as the Turkish Champions interest in Gary Medel.
“At the moment it’s not clearly defined what is happening. We have given the Brazilian a couple of days to decide. Between today and tomorrow the situation will be much clearer.”
“We want things to go our way and we want Gary Medel from Inter. We are continuing to talk about the situation because we want high level players at our club.”

Medel was the key of our midfield last season. As a DMF he cover many areas include helping the flanks and he is statisticaly our best passer. Obviously he was underrated.
I wonder why people didn’t understand his role as the ball winner and he did it perfect, if you didn’t like “ball winner type DMF/CMF” that doesnt mean he was not good. No one in this squad can take his role not even Kondogbia or ehmm Brozovic (who played more and more like Kuzmanovic). Every team in this world must be have at least 1 ball winner in their squad, even barca, juve, bayern, etc they all have it.. If we look back at 2009 we have Motta, Deki, Cuchu, Muntari, Zanetti. This all players can carry the role as ball winner and it’s very good if you have like 3-4 ball winner in your starting XI but now we only have Medel.
If we analyze the game, all of our attacking built up started by him. He win the ball, he deliver it up front and he was the 1st player who transform between defend to attack.
This year our midfield were much more complete, we have the ball winner (Medel), catalyst (Kovacic), and we have metronome (Kondogbia). Now it’s up to Mancini how he utilize all the talents.

I just don’t understand the hype around Melo. Our MF has a pretty solid rotation and I don’t see how Melo can bring any value except getting red cards. If this turns out to be an even swap of Melo for Medel, we are retarded.

I didn’t mean he was better talent wise. I meant that ever since Brozo joined he has been the more consistently impressive one, he showed up and played as if he had been in Serie A for years. The guy hit the ground running and his displays were more solid.

Obviously he was average, eventhough some people think he is pretty good. If we just judge by our own sight, it’s will only give us blured line. Lets talk fact:
Brozovic made 15 appearances, only made 1 goal, 1 assist, 7 yellow card, win zero aerial duel, lost 1 possesion, made only 1 tackle, zero clearances, and only made 1 key passes.
Now, ask yourself.. What is he doing on field??? He just standing there and made a very simple short pass.. Just it..
I mean he adapted overnight, I’m srprised only 1 tackle, I feel like he was tackling all game. He also got unlucky and had like 3 posts…
This also not true. Yes he made great impression in his 1st couple match, but did he maintain his performances 15 out of 15 appearances? No, he mostly average like the other midfielder..
Btw the stats were per-game except (goal, assist, and card).
I wouldn’t say that brozo showed better qualities than kova; however i agree that he was more consistent.
