France coach Didier Deschamps has been speaking about Inter midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia after the 22 year old missed out on a call up for France’s squad to play against Denmark and Armenia.
“Geoffrey has already been with us. He has changed country and culture, I have to make choices. In his role there is a lot of competition, but I know him, I know he has a lot of potential.”
“At Monaco it was not easy at first for him, as well as at Sevilla. There is always a period of adjustment especially in Italy where it is never easy. But the more he plays, the more he will do better, we are following him.”

Lassana Diarra has been absolutely phenomenal since his return to playing (after a year out) with Marseille this summer. No one here in France is surprised he got called up again after almost 5 years (too bad we were close but did not sign him, but oh well..).
I’m not surprised either that he took Kondo’s spot in the team as Deschamps is in love with Cabaye (idk why), Schneiderlin plays for Man U, and Matuidi and Pogba are the stars. I’m sure when Kondo gets settled and adapt fully to Serie A, he’ll be back.
I’m actually happy he didn’t get called up to France’s friendlies. Least he can stay with the club and train with them. Also less risk of getting injured playing a dumb international friendly *cough* Miranda *cough*
