According to the report: “contradicting reports are coming from Appiano Gentile, even if Mancini is tempted to play the trio of Ljajic-Jovetic-Palacio. In midfield Kondogbia won’t recover in time, the doubt lingers around wether or not to play the same midfield trio as against Napoli or to give spac to Melo. In defense, Telles will take the place at left-back from the suspended Nagatomo.”

Please don’t… Icardi is never going to do well in front of Jojo/Ljajic if he doesn’t play with them. Perisic can be subbed in as required but we could use some more pace on the wings and right now Ljajic>Perisic.
I know Melo didn’t play last game but Brozo tends to function better in tandem with Medel rather than Melo for some reason. This is exactly the sort of game he should be given the space in midfield to show what he can do for 90mins

I think this is the best offensive trio for us right now. Palacio is just not him anymore and Icardi is struggling in the new system. Thank god Nagatomo has a red card and Telles will have to play.
I would give Palacio a chance looking at the poor form of Icardi atm. Palacio was also looking good in the friendly matches against Bari and Milan from what I have seen from the highlights. Besides that I think he wan’t to prove to Mancini he is still got it in him. Despite his age it shouldn’t really matter look at Toni and Di Natale as example. And don’t forget Palacio sometimes really does play smart like his assist to Kondogbia ^^

I think it will be good to try this trio in this match. This trio will offer much more movement and flexibility in front I guess instead of serving a lone passive striker. And I think we need an attacking minded CMF like rakitic who is mobile but quite useful in attack. We have guarin and brozo. Guarin is guarin and brozo is naturally a dmf.

Perisic is useless while struggling to accommodate into italian football, Icardi is still in a hole, Palacio is old and slow. As long as Jojo and Ljajic are playing, I don’t care much who their partner will be.
Perisic is far from useless. He is very important for the way we play atm.
He should be. If he was in form we could have beaten Napoli, but he squandered the few good chances we had. He’s a shadow of what he showed in Germany. He needs time to adapt, but in the meantime he’s not of much use.
Fully agree, he is missing some easy passes and easy shots, I think it’s psychological, hope he can solve it soon
Yes he didn’t have the best of games there number wise but he puts his heart and soul to every game. He helps out at defense, runs like a horse and wins battles. He won 6 headers against Napoli, despite not being the tallest player, more than any other Inter player. To me that is also a contirbution.
Like you said he needs time but still remains an important player for us.
We also could have won if Lljajic had passed to D’ambro on that one change, which btw was played nicely by Perisic. I’m more concerned about Icardi’s contribution..
he hasn’t showed anything yet- but he has great positioning that’s why he scored twice- although for me he remains as useless until he really contribute to the team!
