Inter gave a heroic performance in the return leg of the Coppa Italia semifinal against Juventus at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district. The Nerazzurri came back from 0-3 deficit from the first leg to win 3-0 after 90 minutes but still lost the match on penalties after Rodrigo Palacio was the only player to fail to convert his penalty kick. Before that, Marcelo Brozovic had given a Man of The Match performance by scoring a brace with fellow Croatian winger Ivan Perisic finding the back of the net as well.
Juan Pablo Carrizo – 6,5: Had absolutely nothing to do for 2 hours but pulled off to magical saves to prevent Juventus from deciding the tie before the penalties.
Davide Santon – 6: Fought hard & ran a lot up & down Inter’s right flank helping out in attack & defense. Great comeback after the poor derby performance.
Danilo D’Ambrosio – 6,5: Is much better as a central defender than he is a full-back. Looks more composed & natural in the middle of defense than out on wing.
Juan Jesus – 7: The captain for the day behaved like a true captain should. Led by example by fighting, running & annoying Juve’s attackers.
Yuto Nagatomo – 6: Gave 110% today in every rush, challenge & loose ball. Had a good understanding with Perisic on the left wing. Good job.
Geoffrey Kondogbia – 6: Only played 45 mins before being brought off at half time with a contusion to the head. When he played he played really well.
Gary Medel – 7: Inter’s own Duracell rabbit. Ran like a man possessed in midfield chasing the life out of Juve’s midfield. Hard as nails.
Marcelo Brozovic – 8: What a comeback! Scored twice & gave an all round man of the match performance. Directed Inter’s midfield today. Epic performance.
Ivan Perisic – 7,5: Very good performance by the Croatian winger. Maybe a bit too passionate when he grabbed a choke hold on Cuadrado & was booked.
Eder – 7: Demonstrated today why Ronaldo & Mancini have been singing his praises. His movement was exceptional & unlucky not to score.
Adem Ljajic – 6,5: Had a quiet game compared to his teammates & missed a few chances as well as being unlucky by hitting the bar.
Jonathan Biabiany – 6: Another solid performance by Inter’s French sprinter who is lightning quick when given space to run into with the ball.
Rodrigo Palacio – 6: Intelligent player who always plays intelligently but was unlucky when hitting the crossbar in the penalty shootout losing the match.
Rey Manaj – : Cam on in the 113th minute & didn’t play long enough to be marked. Scored his penalty in the shoot out with ease.
Roberto Mancini – 8: Got everything right from tactics to the team’s mentality to the match. God knows what he told the team but they had fire in their eyes.
Inter’s performance – 8: Great performance by the team. Sure, it was Juve’s second team but it was still Juve they played off the pitch for 90 minutes.
Andrea Gervasoni – 4: Incredibly inconsistent & allowed a level of challenges that wouldn’t have been allowed in rugby. Missed at least 3 red cards.

Roberto Mancini gets an 8 and slap on the face, I was Mancini biggest opposition after summer preparations, the season started and we all shut down for some lame ass 1-0 wins and godly luck, that kept our team shiny from the outside while the rust still eating us inside. there is no reason whatsoever, Inter cant play attacking football just like we did against Juv, if we put 3 past juve and trust me it could have easily been 5 other teams will be demolished week in and week out so am back to the slogan y’all fuck mancini
Penalty shots need to be removed from all sports as a way to conclude a game. It’s bullshit. With football the argument is that the players can’t continuously play or they’d collapse. The solution is simple. Give them 10-15 mins between halfs and allow about 1-3 subs in injury time. Let them play 2 halfs at a time, until someone wins (no golden goal). I’ve never liked them whether Inter or Italy wins in them.
Also wtf happened to the rule where the PS taker can’t stop or stutter step which would result in the shot counting as a miss automatically? Figo needed to be FIFA president because he wanted to change all this bullshit, and have games decided by talent, not by a player taking a shot at 12 yards (36ft) on a 8 yard (24ft) wide goal.
Mancini choices of the penalty shoot out was outrageous, Brozo put agoo game but nearly missed his first penalty, so he shouldnt have started, he put an nice one in, but Palacio, palacio was turned into defencive midfielder by mancini, and he is no longer have any confidence infront of the goal, Handanovice should have been brought in, even carrizo put on smashing saves at the end
I think Palacio was the wrong choice to pick. Palacio was very weak in body contact and I can’t stand watching him running with a ball with a risk of losing the ball to the opponent. Melo or Gnoukouri will be a better option than palacio. Our midfield were run out of gas on extra time and too tired to build attacks
no one expected that result not even ourselves, 1st team to beat Juve after 18 games- I just hope that mancio realizes that we need Ljiajic and Perisic if he continues like this but from the start, I know some ppl won’t like this but I did not miss Kondo in the 2nd half-
brozovic needs to keep playing consistanlty at this level
110% nagatomo is rated 6?
wonder if he only gives 50%
When we were 3 goals up I was really happy, but what made my night was the choke of perisic waaw incredible, I was sow happy after that I didn’t care if we lost, I wish someone does that to bonnucci as he has good relationship with the referees every little incident hes there, I was like why, whenever Juan or medel try the ref moves, he doesn’t wanna reply I was like it must be their italian maybe they r saying cunt without realising but then dambrosio interfered and the ref wasn’t bothered I was like waaw bonnucci must be a good preacher he convinces the refs with he’s swagger.
that rubentus scums are italian sweetheart.. we are the most hated team in italia because we always a very “international” team. and added to that when mourinho was here, they found more reasons to hate us.. LOL..
but we got the best days when they had their tons of reason to hate us, lol. because probably at that time we had wildly daring personals not afraid of them, and they finally found someone who are bravely enough to say every smugly remarks back at their faces, in mourinho…a typical mou. comparing now, we just are too calm and friendly around them..lol
Cuadardo when with Forentina, was the most fouled player in Serie A. The most player that yellow cards went against. Can’t believe he hasn’t been suspended multiple times for simulation because 1 of every 10 tackles is actually a foul on him, the rest of the time he’s flopping around.
i was not wathing regular time, but i see statistics for first 90min…only i can say: rube was smashed….over 60% ball possesion and they dont have shot in target…and of course…3-0…then I turn on my TV, and Pogba come in….what a player…he doing what he want with our midfielders…and only what I see from us is as usual long balls without possesion, without any idea…to be honest, we must be statisfied to not lost in overtime…in case to rube have dybala or mandzukic yesterday, we would lose
Inter from yesterday wouldnt lose even if play against Barca. Regular 90 min.
hahaha I wish your statement was true 🙂 but in real world we are just heading to EL, our team must face Rome and Napoli playing the way they did yesterday so they can win 9 out 11 remaining games and our main objective may become true-
Noone is saying how we are playing this whole season, but how we played yesterday. CL is almost unreachable for us, but it doesnt change the fact how we played yesterday.
there are still some games ahead let’s have some hope, as long as our team don’t lose and win 9 out 11 we should be able to reach CL, just don’t forget that rube play with their bench team and they probably were tired since they have faced us and Bayern, in any case our motivation went up it may be that moment that we have been waiting for!
I’d have to admit, when i saw Pogba comin on i got a little nervous
Mancini should have used Handa for the penalties, lik Van Gaal did in the world cup with Kruul.
Samir has one of the best save ratio in the world for penalties!
Mancini want to do that, but Eder cant continue, so the last substitute was Manaj
speaking of manaj, that kid seem to have quality, he needs to play, when he went in, he went all for it wasnt afraid to take on Juve defence and beat them to the ball few times
Do you watch City? Caballero can be a hero saved 3 penalties.
Yep I did and Caballero is much better than Carizzo who objectively is a mediocre goal keeper…
Did you watch him last year against Wolsburg?
I can’t see in the future but I think that with Handa and the same team, we would have been in the finale.
And anyways, Mancini is an idiot, why the fuck Manaj when we have Icardi?
You really don’t know team management. Then what for we sign 2nd goalkeeper? Any idea good 2nd goalkeeper who willing sit in the bench not knowing when he will play but also good skill and cheap price? Even in treble winner Inter team, Mancini give 2nd goalkeeper as a starter. CMIIW
LOL…you do seem to know at lot…
Didn’t know that Mancini won a treble
he never said mancini won treble though..^^
Misspell at first I type Mancini. Then edit to Mou. XD
owh.. i see.. ^^
What I was meaning is that it’s good to rotate when you are already on winning streaks…
Last year, we had only Europa League and winning the cup this year could have changed our season.
That s why I think mancini should have maximized our chances by playing Handa who, we all agree, if much better than Carrizo.
Anyways, it’s just my opinion, I don’t know why some people here can’t accept different opinions from theirs
That’s why I’m appointing City case or many more cases. I can understand you’re the type of don’t change the winning team. LOL, He also edit his comment
Lol…Problem is that we haven’t had a winning team for years and the future doesn’t look bright from a financial point of view
Don’t worry. If Mancini can’t win 4 of 5 next games he will be sacked. Simple right? When before Christmas almost all of Interisti fans thinking we will win Scudetto then bang never thought will be like this crisis. Just like Roma and Bilan did.
Yep but apparently we ll be forced to pay him a lot of dough if we sack him…
Plus, we ll have to sell our best players if we don’t make CL, which is highly unlikely, so I dunno what to hope anymore….
Who knows what happen next? Maybe Inter will win 8 straight win if perform like yesterday match.
Let s hope so
for all matches, amen to that
Mehh…I count after Roma match. Tough opponent right now Roma..LOL…But that’s the spirit
well..if i may add, the statistics around us are not friendly enough to show what we got after christmas. so, it should have been predicted we would turn around the table. my main question still, did they realize it and try to fix it?
Just my opinion, Inter make mistakes in winter transfer market. Despite they can loaned out Dodo and Rano, sell Guarin and terminate Vidic, they have problem bringing the right player. Here’s my though:
1. They should turn back Jovetic if they really want to buy Eder
2. Sign a player that very good at set pieces. Actually I was hoping Pirlo or Xabi. Maybe Kolarov realistic target.
1. I like both of Jovetic and Eder. I think they can form a dangerous partnership. But we have Icardi as our main striker
2. For set piece, we already have Brozovic and Ljajic. Maybe we can add some players like Materazzi or Samuel who can convert our set piece into goals
it’s okay mate, actualy i agree with some of your point.. i’m not critize you btw.. i just tried to telling you that @inter1998 didn’t say than mancini won the treble.. and then he said that he actualy type mancini by mistake.. so just some misunderstanding there..^^. handa is the best option, but carizzo was not that bad.. he even made 2 major saved.. to be fair we can’t judge a goalkeeper from merely a penalty shoot out.. if our penalty taker can finish their job, it will be a different story too.. so it’s useless to find somebody to blame after such a great performance.. let’s hope this team will have their morale back to the top.. we desperately need it now.. i don’t know what mancini said to the player before the game, but it’s work. the player gave their 110%, everybody run for their life.. ^^
It’s okay mate…
But we can’t ignore that Handa has an overall penalty stop rate over 40% , which is the 1st or 2nd rate in the world.
Anyways, I just never liked Mancini and never will, but let’s hope we save this season.
Carizzo was superb for 120 minutes but what the hell did he do on penalty shootout? He didn’t scare and intimidate the opponents and got beaten easily
And next game it will be a line up with 5 different players. The best performers will be sitting on the bench. No way we can get consistency
absolutely true..
It’s Mancini, what do you expect from a chicken shit coach
Brozovic can be our regista… I can see that last night, he has potential… Hope he can get better from now on and be consistent…
He is box-to-box player. He is not close to regista position.
Yes, I know he’s not pure regista. But I think he can fill that role for a while, at least for now when we don’t even have one… Just hope he doesn’t get drunk again, and play like last night for every remaining matches in league
Not good enough passer, when the chips are down can he deliver when it counts? He is a good sub for us nothing more nothing less, hopefully use his form to sell him to arsenal
Let’s see how he fare from now on. If he can keep performance like last night from now on, maybe we can keep him or if we want to sell him we can get good price 😀
i hope we can find our consistency again..^^
I want to hear Perisic and Brosovic hater comment.
i think our fans hate our team a lot.. hahahaha.. from coach, nagatomo, d’ambrosio, perisic, k-dog, medel, broso, juan, palacio, mello, and many more… the only players that love by our fans are murillo and icardi.. sometimes they love the player more than the team.. so no need to hear the hater.. just be neutral.. and see our team as a team..^^
