Having officially signed for Inter today, the former Lazio winger Antonio Candreva also spoke to Inter Channel regarding the move which will see him wear the nerazzurri colours in the upcoming season. Here are his words:
“I am very happy and very determined. I have yet to hear from the coach, I’ll definitely speak to him tomorrow, but I’ve spoken to Ausilio. I will give everything that I have and will try to leave my mark with this great shirt”.
“Let’s hope for many satisfying moments. I can’t wait to meet my new teammates”.

This is a great signing for Inter’s team needs, but it also leaves me very curious as to what awaits. Obviously there is still plenty of room for improvement, but where is the improvement most needed? There are still holes for another playmaker (I think Banega will be great, but I doubt he can carry the full burden by himself for 50+ games), a vice-Icardi (Inter has plenty of forwards, but not another poacher like Maurito, who like Banega cannot carry the full burden of scoring by himself for 50+ games), CM/CDM with tactical intelligence (I don’t think Kondogbia is defensively sound enough to be relied on as the only cover to our back line along with Banega as a regista, and the chemistry with Melo and Medel just isn’t there because they’re too aggressive to compliment each other. We need someone that can sit back and absorb pressure and make intelligent interceptions and tackles), and a depth CB (which isn’t totally necessary if Medel and Andreolli are back up options, they’re reliable enough, literally anyone but Ranocchia)
Think that medel or melo there to protect banega, free to pass he want. Make him like pirlo.
A CDM’s job is to protect the back line, not the playmaker. How is it even possible to protect a player while they have the ball? Also, Mancini isn’t tactically equipped to use Banega in a Pirlo-esque role, but to be fair not many coaches are.
CDM can be vital play makers and goal scorers just Cambiasso Banega has a lot to offer for Inter those players who can give more than required from the are the outstanding ones and can give us the uper hand
They certainly can, but playing in a formation with 2 CDMs requires them to compliment each other. Don’t forget that Cambiasso mostly played as a lone CDM, and had the luxury of having two world class CBs behind him for most of his time at Inter, allowing him to get forward from time to time. Not that our current CBs are poor, Ranocchia excluded, but Murillo in particular is still young and prone to mistakes, and would benefit greatly with proper defensive cover from an intelligent CDM similar to Cambiasso in front of him. As I said in my other comment, this will also give the rest of our midfield more freedom to get forward and create knowing that their is always support for the back line if they’re caught out of position.
I agree with you totally I hope Kondogbia get back the talent he had at Monaco in playmaking and scoring the Banega’s job would be much easier but still we need another player with such abilities
However a poacher striker will not come cheap adding to that Gabigol if he comes he may came it would be too late plus we have a lot of useless strikers that need to go lets wait the transfer window is still open I hope more good things happens but the club need to look for more targets as many of the old ones went to other teams and the current targets are hard to get
That’s exactly why we need another CDM, someone similar to Toulalan who played with Kondogbia at Monaco. It would give him more freedom to get forward and use his great dribbling and powerful shot to change games, but playing with Medel and Melo leaves him limited because of their aggressive pressing, leaving him to have to always cover the back line, which isn’t his ideal role. As you said, another striker won’t be cheap, but I think we’d be better off investing the 25 million we intend to use for Gabigol on a new CDM and a lesser, but adequate poacher.
