SportMediaset have revealed there are a few tussles going on for a starting berth in the game against Chievo. The left-back position is being contested by Yuto Nagatomo and Caner Erkin meanwhile there is a toss up between Antonio Candreva and Eder for one of the forward roles, despite the latter recovering from injury. Ever Banega won’t face competition to orchestrate things through the middle of the field they also say and he will be the one to set the tempo.

Erkin hasn’t shown anything so far, but we got to wait until the first game, at least with Naga we know that he runs a lot both in front and on the back—
Am sorry but Nagatomo is a liability in defence. He is just too small and tiny to be a defender. How can someone like that defend a cross into our penalty area. He will loose 10/10 aerial duels. He is fine as a wingback in a 3 man defence but not as fullback in a 4 man defence. Since Chievo will rely alot on setpieces in this game the smart move would be to play Erkin.
Who buy nagatomo?? Mazzari? Mazzari use 3 def that why he use Naga as winger with Dmbrosio if Im not wrong, so technically yes he cannot defend. If we use 4 def I guess dont use him as fullback, just get rid him asap LOL

I want to see more of him but I don’t think he’s our best crosser. Perhaps in the fullback role, and that’s a maybe.

Dodo>Nagatomo. When Ansaldi comes back we should play him as LB and Dambrosio as RB. Thats the best we have unfortunately.

i know Ansaldi is hurt but cant he also play as a LB? if so we should focus in getting a good RB, play Ansaldi on the left and finally rid ourselves of Naga, Santon (even though no one will buy him) or D’ambrosio. Getting Erkin was stupid. The only reason we got him was because he was free. Telles was better imo. Mancio just refused to play him much.
Ansaldi’s natural position is LB, but due to his excellent weak foot was deployed as a RWB last year for Genoa. I’d love for Inter to get a true first team quality RB and play Ansaldi at LB, that way Erkin, Nagatomo and D’Ambrosio can be used as squad rotation players as their skill warrants them to be. Tete has been mentioned due to De Boer coming in, but there are still other options like Darmian, Fabinho and Mario Fernandes, all of which are valued about the same. Caceres is also always an option, but he is out until October and we need a fullback asap.
Darmian would be good (we could use more italians in the squad). i read yesterday that Mou at Man U wanted Fabinho. I dont really know much about Tete though tbh. Either way i just want a solid RB!
I also think Darmian would be good, especially since he can also play as both RB and LB. If Man U get Fabinho, then that should only make things easier for us to acquire Darmian, so it may be a good thing. Tete is very promising, his tackling ability in particular is exceptional, but he needs some polishing going forward.

As do I, it’s tough because we need a fullback, center back, and a midfielder ideally, but we’ll see what management can do.
Telles was arguably our best FB last season. He was productive offensively, and didn’t make any major fuck-up in defense, although he occasionally lost his men.

I say play Nagatomo out of the two. He is better then Erkin (marginally) and you can’t complain about his work rate… just a shame he isn’t that good at defending
