Former Inter captain and an icon of the club Beppe Bergomi spoke to Sky after Inter’s 2-0 defeat vs Chievo Verona. He said:
“I would never have taken Banega off. You could have taken Medel and lower Banega down as Inter needed to recover that time. It was a risky move to start the Serie A campaign vs an organised Chievo with a 3-5-2 formation.”
Clearly the former Nerazzurri star wasn’t happy at all from the team’s performance!

And now Sas doesnt want him anymore..
Ehh 3-5-2??? Didn’t see the game, but who was our 3defender? Thought Medel was central mid?
he talk about 2nd half i guess..
Ranocchia in the middle, Miranda on the left and D’ambrosio on the right, that was FDB defensive formation. Nagatomo wasn’t left back, but more left wingback and was useless! I don’t know what FDB was thinking, but was very strange to use 3-5-2 against Chievo and to leave Perisic on the bench. I don’t know why, but there wasn’t his famous high pressing and he doesn’t change this strange 3-5-2 even after we was losing and was obvious that doesn’t work!
okay thanks man… everyone talked about the team not beeing in physical shape and if your not 100% fit you can´t do the high pressing De Boer wants
You can try for the first 30 minutes. That will help us to create some opportunities and if we’re lucky to score, that will change the whole game. Because we can sit back and waiting Chievo to open up and counter them, not vice versa like was last night. And the coach can help himself with three substitutions! In Serie A if you want to win, even against small teams like Chievo have to take risks. That was one of Mancini’s big problems, he always want to avoid risks at any costs, but we’re Inter, not Pescara!!!
Well high pressing works if the opponent has the ball and “wants to keep it”, but if they sit back and play on the counter it won´t work…
I don’t think it was bad attempt, because Cheivo was like waiting for attalcks to happen in the first half, but our players didn’t move forward at all, plus Ranocchia gave them signals that its easy reach our goals, that’s why in the second half they started with organised attacks then went to counters after their first goal, Kondogbia played well trying to break Chievo defense and create chances but our players didn’t know how to move and create space for passes to come, one more thing that I hated Nagatomo got have out runned defenders on lift wing but instead he seemed comfortable to keep the ball were it was in midfield, Perisic could have done better starting with Candreva on right wing.
Neither would I. And neither would I bench Perišić or play 3-5-2. Fuck me, just make me the coach.
On a serious note, we gave time to Mazzari and Mancini, might as well give it to De Boer.
I agree with the patience, however Inter were within one week of being ‘winter champions’ last January, surely any time was earned for Mancini (unlike Mazzari, 9th place) Currently Inter are in last position, so how much time are you willing to give? Remember Gasperini’s ‘record’.
