gabigol

After long months of interest, Inter were able to finally sign Gabigol. According to Uol Esporte, Barcelona are now ready to take Santos to court because of Gabigol! They believe Santos did not respect the agreement they had on Gabigol, which was in place since the Neymar deal.

The agreement was: Barcelona had the right to match any offer for the player within 3 days.

The Brazilian club had sent an email to Barcelona to let them know of Inter’s offer on Monday but they wanted an answer by Wednesday August 31st 2016 (as the transfer window was set to close). Barcelona told Santos not to proceed with the sale of Gabigol because there was not enough time left for Barcelona to submit a counter-offer.

Santos president Modesto Roma let Barcelona know that an email was only sent on Monday since Inter’s offer only arrived to them on the previous Sunday. This upset Barcelona since they knew the player had already arrived in Milan to undergo his medicals on Friday. Barcelona now want to get 3.2 million euros back from Santos (because the option agreement wasn’t respected according to them).
