After the first win of the season against Pescara, Inter’s manager, Frank de Boer spoke with Premium Sport about his sides’ comeback.
The Dutchman said: “I saw a team that wanted to win and for me this was very important. We tried to get the three points by playing very well in the first half. In three occasions we gave the ball to Pescara. After their goal we lost our focus, they had their chance to double it up but after that we deserved to win because we created opportunities to score. Of the four chances they had we let them have four of them. we have to improve on that. The triple substitution? We have a good team, I felt that some players were tired and I had to put three fresh players at once. We don’t play with eleven players and not with twenty-five, all are important to this team. Juve? A great team, but we are convinced of being able to make life difficult and to win like last year in the cup. We lose the ball easily and they have much more quality than Pescara. Today I saw a combative team and that’s why we got the two goals. Palacio? Is working hard, he always deserves to play because he is a great professional. His time will come, today was important. He deserved to score. He is an experienced player, he can play in space and we need them. But we have to make choices, and today I chose other players, in the future I might change. Gabigol? Has proven to be a fantastic player, every club in Europe would want him. I hope that he will soon be part of this fantastic team. He can play in three different positions, we will where he likes better. He can be an important player for us in the future. Icardi with Palacio? They can play together, we know that Rodrigo can play very well behind the tip. Icardi was always in the right place even in the first half. Obviously if you have a player near the defenders, you have to worry not only about him, so he can save space. In the interval we said that we could improve especially in the work of the full-backs that were too low. We have done many good things and some bad, we know we have to improve. We wanted to equalize as soon as possible and sometimes we made mistakes. Handanovic was extraordinary even today, I am satisfied with his performance.”

“I saw a team that wanted to win and for me this was very important. Today I saw a combative team and that’s why we got the two goals.” i really like the passion. FORZA!
What I can see the positive thing for FDB’s 3rd official game:
1. Our game is more fluid. I like Mario with his position, his passing, and his winning back the ball. Banega didn’t show his best capability but he shows his killing assist at last minutes. But, of course, our players still need to make their passing (or crossing) way better than this. I hope our passing was terrible (especially our crossing) is just because we are nervous and will be upgraded soon.
2. Our coach shows the coach function when the game is ongoing which is : making analyse and then making decision to get the better result. When our winger is not working good enough after 60-70 minutes, then it’s time to change how we play. FDB make 3 substitutions at a time! Candreva & Perisic are replaced by Jovetic & Eder. Medel is good on defensive role, but seems rookie on attacking role. Previously, I thought Medel will be replaced by Kondogbia or Brozovic, but he was replaced by Palacio. FDB shows crazy fearless by putting 4 strikers at a time!
3. For Icardi, as usual, he looks invisible at entire game. He never involved with our gameplay. But, when he gets the ball, he shows his beast. And I like his calm and how he appreciates his teammates contribution for his goals. As long as he can shut his wife mouth, he will be a good captain.
4. Our defensive line is our most weakens. I feel safe when Handa and Miranda is in their position. If don’t have them, maybe we will be conceded more than 1 goal. Murillo is OK, but he needs to improve his concentration. Our FB is under performed like all our previous games. Their performance is average and not good enough for this team. We may able to win against Pescara and other average team with these FB players. But, vs Juve, or other strongest team, we will be doomed with these FB players. I hope January we focus to search on FB players.
yes, remember when Murillo showed great play in the beginning of the season last year and then his performance dived down little by little after mid-season.
Please tell me how did we play last night? There is no Television Channel broadcast Serie A in my country (poor me), they prefer broadcasts those overrated filthy scum EPL only for ratings
Mate, check out this website http://intermilandestroyingclubs.weebly.com/ all Inter matches are uploaded 48 hours after the game ends. Also live streams them
Soo manyy thanks brother
No problem 🙂
I disagree with one thing: ‘Palacio? His time will come, today was important.’ – He’s finished, since World Cup he’s useless, but it’s mysterious, how in two months a guy from a good player turned into crap. Nevermind, respect for FDB for using his subs.
dont look 2 late gools inter played amazing we miss more chance it doensnt mean de boer fault coach did his best let’s trust our players and coach. forza inter
We were SO lucky today! We played really bad and Pescara more than deserved a draw! I hate this wanna be BARCA/Ajax tiki takka 4-3-3 still of play, which totally isolate Icardi in the box and if you do not have quality fullbacks capable of overlapping and crossing, you’re wingers will be left stranded with the job of opening up gameplay and delivering crosses into the solo striker…
We all dislike Mazarri BUT he manage to turn Icardi into the highest scoring player in serie A by playing a striker next to him (Palacio). And what happened when De Boer finally put another striker in the box -Icardi exploded!
The system that suites the squad the best and which insures we field as many of our quality players at the same time is; 3-4-1-2. In that way Icardi have someone to help him out on top (Eder, Gabi), Medel should play in center defense with freedom to go forward anto midfield, like he does for Chile, xKondogbia (as our Vidal/ Pogba) and Mario (as our Marchissio) in the midle and Banega as att mid, with Candreva on the right like for Italy and Ansaldi/ D’Ambrossio (which he did for Torino) on the left.
I know we are stuck with the dead boring 4-3-3 and De Boer will problaby be sacked before Christmas because of lack of quality fullbacks and an isolated Icardi!
Who’s your dealer? I need to relax with a joint after this game.
Whoever fells like celebration or parting after a game where we just so won newly promoted Pescara and only did so with help from our goal keeper and LUCK, simply has forgotten which team he supports!
Buddy pescara is a good team. The same team that held napoli last week
they also beat sassuolo.
They will cause problems for all of seria a
yes Pescara is a superb SERIE B team!
Well be as it may, they are giving the bigger teams a run for they money so far.
hmm.. they lost against Sassoulo but got a great 2-2 draw against Napoli and now lost against us … but true, they´ve got some interesting youngsters who keep a former national/juve player on the bench Pepe…
We should have really beaten Palermo but Pescara are going to cause trouble in Serie A, I don’t think they will relegate.
I miss the game, how did we play actually?
http://intermilandestroyingclubs.weebly.com/full-matches.html Here you go mate 🙂 Full match!
Okay, we were the “lucky” ones because Pescara missed 2 or 3 big chances? You clearly forget that Inter had many big chances as well. We could easily have scored at least 4 more goals. Banega could have scored 2 goals, Candreva had a shot saved on the line and Palacio should have scored right before Icardi’s second goal, and that was only a small portion of our chances. We had 22 goal scoring opportunities compared to Pescara’s 10, 15 shots on target while Pescara had 9 and massively 13 corners compared to Pescara’s 3. Yeah Handanovic did save Inter a couple times, but Pescara’s keeper Bizzarri deffinately saved Pescared multiple times as well.
yep, the game could easaly have ended in a draw or lose and that is against a new comer to Serie A, which is my point excatly… we do not play like a big team fighting for 3th spot, at least not eit….
Banega should, not only could! He’s good player, but you just can’t want to play as number 10 and don’t score at least one of those two clear chances!
Perisic?
left wingback of cause, when he re-finds his form from last season but now he´s been quite shitty for 2 games in a row…
FDB gets your point “Icardi? He is always in the right place at the right time. When he plays with another striker next to him, this allows him a bit more room.” Check it on calciomercato.com http://bit.ly/2c2Fclj
Tomorrow have its own difficulty. Let’s take a little bit of time to enjoy the first win. I hope many more victory to come, ugly or beautiful.
Well, De boer still only has less than 1 month to adapt serie A and our player.. You should happy we dominate the game, also Icardi is always isolated even in mancini era..
True, De Boer has just arrived and he is trying to build something more positive than Mancini and we should give him time – but to go ape-shit because we just so manage to win Pescara is just too much!
Icardi being isolated is the reason why I don´t like the 4-2-3-1/4-5-1/-4-3-3, because it always tend to leave the solo-striker isolated upfront, unlike the 3-5-2/4-4-2!
How about 4-4-2 or 4-3-1-2?
I personly like the 4-4-2 -> it´s very direct and perfect to defend with as well as you have 2 players in every position of the pitch to help each other out, but we´ll get kind of a problem with fitting in Banega into this system.
But maybe he could fit in like Zidane did for Juve back in the days, starting his movements from the left wing, cutting into the middle and playing there as a number 10 and then getting back into pos. when we los possession…. but that riqueres a quality left footed fullback to do the overlapping (like R.Carlos did when these two players played together at Real Madrid) which we haven´t got (unless we change Perisic into a fullback!).
In midfield Medel could cover for Benaga when he cuts into the midle and J.Mario could be left free to go forward; could work!
Agree.. If we have someone like maincon, javier zanetti or roberto carlos in fullbacks that will be different story now 🙂
