I don’t think that his comment is wrong. If we look at the current year FIFA’s best XI, none of Inter’s players are included in the top ten list. If we look at our players values, none of them are also among top ten. But objectively, most of the top ten players in the world right now are playing in Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Atletico Madrid and some of them are overrated just because they are lucky to play in a strong team.
I don’t think that we need that very best player for now if our goals is CL. We may need one or two big purchases next year (with the support from Sunning) to compete the scudetto with Rube.
But for now, I believe that we have the 2nd best squad in Italy and hopefully FDB can make them play as a strong team and brings Inter back to CL.

Of course we don’t have any players in the top 10, but we still have a lot of talent, Banega, Miranda, João Mário, Icardi, Perisic, Candreva are all world class, and Kondogbia and Gabigol had a ton of interest from bigger clubs before moving to Inter so they certainly have a bright future

I think every Interesta is very happy with our squad other than our fullbacks. We have TWO worldclass players, one is Samir Handanovic, top 10 keeper in the world, if not top 5, and another is the captain of the Brazilian national team, Jao Miranda. Then we have many young talented players that are wanted by big clubs such as, Jao Mario, Murrillo, Icardi, and Gabigol.

Agree – Handanovic has to be considered amongst the best goal keepers in the world, and even Candreva as one of the best right wingers, right? Icardi has scored 50 goals in 94 Serie A games which is INSANE so of cause, as a goalscorer he´s up there with the best there is! And J.MArio is a European Champion at the age of 23….
