FCInterNews.it exclusively report that Inter will bid for Franck Kessie in the summer. The 19-year-old’s agent has confirmed Inter have shown an interest but they’re not the only club with Napoli also interested. The Ivorian has been in fine form netting 5 goals in 4 competitive games for Atalanta following his summer move from Serie B side Cesena. His curent contract runs til 2021.

Him and Gnou will compete to become the new Yaya Toure. Assuming Melo will be gone soon, Kessie may come to replace him. Too bad we’re forgetting our own jewel: Assane Gnoukouri. Right now, Gnou and Kessie are almost in the same level. Kessie has more chances to show his talents this year than Gnou.
Hopefully, FDB will give opportunities to Gnou, no Melo please.
Side Note…Is anyone playing Fanatsy Champions League? i want to join another league..if you will have me!
He’s scored 5 goals in 4 matches thus far, none of them anything special, mostly tap ins and one even being a penalty, but if they showed anything it’s that he has a nose for goal, and confidence and composure in front of the net. Those are values you can’t truly teach, and to have them strong enough for his team to trust him to convert penalties at 19 years old, especially since he isn’t a striker, shows that he might have that “special” something that Inter has needed from our midfield the past few season.
dude, great write up
Thanks, I’ve always enjoyed scouting youth players as a hobby so I’d like to think I have a pretty good eye for talent at this stage.
haha man honestly that was better then most of the “articles” on this page
Thanks again, they’ve always done a great job of relaying information on this page, but I’d agree that a lot of the articles lack that extra bit of information that would make them more insightful.
i read news, that his play looks-like Toure. Is he that good – so far?
If I had to compare him to a specific player, yes, Yaya Toure would certainly be the most accurate, but more specifically to Yaya Toure at Man City. Even further than that I’d compare him to Yaya during the 2013/14 season, where he scored a career high 24 goals, doubling his next best tally. What stands out in particular about that season, besides the number of goals, is how he scored them. Yaya scored 10 goals from finishes within the box and 6 from penalties, two skills Kessie has already showcased, but at only 19 years old. Also, Yaya scored another 3 goals from long shots, something that you could see glimpses of from Kessie at Cesena, but not yet this season with Atalanta. Before joining City, Yaya’s best goal tally was 5 during the 2006/07 season at Monaco, a respectable tally considering he was still technically a defensive mid at the time, but not comparable to his tallies once joining City. This was due to being moved further up the pitch as a box to box mid, allowing those bursting runs into the box he is now known for. Kessie has already made the same transition for Cesena and now Atalanta. Making this transition from a much younger age leads me to believe Kessie could eventually reach, and hopefully, unlike Toure, maintain the numbers that Yaya reached during that season. The only issues I see with Kessie having the potential to reach Yaya’s figure from that season is first, Yaya’s nearly unparalleled physically ability, and second, developing his FK ability to match that of Toure’s form that season, scoring 5 goals from FKs. Realistically, there is no true solution to the first issue because even at 19, it seems Kessie is fully developed physically, and although already physically gifted, won’t ever match Toure’s physical stature. What I’d hope to see is him make up for it with his work rate, Yaya has always been criticized for his work rate away from the ball, and is certainly something Kessie can surpass him with. As for the second issue, I feel that it is just something that will come with time. As I said earlier, Kessie has already shown glimpses of his ability to score long shots, and has composure and confidence from the penalty spot. Although I wouldn’t say a combination of the two directly translate to FK ability, it’s certainly as close as you can get, and again, with time, could be developed. Sorry for the lengthy scouting report, but it’s something I’m very passionate about and like to provide others with full details and my opinions about the player.
He already has 5 goals in his first month with serie a and he is only 19. I think everyone is watching him
Ehh… who?
some defender that’s on the top of the serie a scoring chart
Wow, a 19 year old defender who has scored 4 goals??? Sounds interesting
let see how it continues and he has 5 not 4
He’s a central midfielder.
just for 3 games so far, his whole life a CB
He’s only played as a CB for the Ivory Coast. He played as a central midfielder for most of last year with Cesena, occasionally being deployed as a box to box defensive midfielder, but never as a CB.
Exciting time for us
