Latest reports from Sky Sport suggest both Geoffrey Kondogbia and Ivan Perišić will be recalled to Inter’s starting XI v Empoli tomorrow night. Frank De Boer will deploy a 4-3-3 formation, in which Kondogbia will join João Mário and Gary Medel in midfield whilst Perišić is set to complete an attacking trident with Antonio Candreva and Mauro Icardi. Here is the Nerazzurri’s expected starting XI in full:

I thought so too before. But boy was I wrong after his display against Juve. He does what he do best now, he doesn’t have to create play anymore and can just focus on recovering balls and giving the ball to Joao Mario and Banega. He was awesome against Juve.
Man. Joao mario banega partnership really good. They play as if they had played for a long time together for a long time. This is what happened if you have intelligent player. They dont need time to adapt to the team.

Yeah. Last season we lacked brain in the field. This year suddenly we have many brains in starting 11. I hope the players in the team will benefit from this not just from their services but to learn 1 or 2 how to be a match metronome
Yes, Medel should be asked to do what he does best. I’m thinking that 3-4-1-2 or 3-4-3 will get the best of our current squad with Candreva and Perisic in midfield and Medel staying behind to provide cover and recover the ball for when they are caught upfield and we lose the ball in attack. This would solve the build up play against defensive teams and take advantage of our debt in attack (we could even field Eder, Icardi and JOJO/Gabigol upfront). I think FDB may have had similar thoughts when he fielded a 3-5-2 but we didn’t have Joao Mario then and Candreva and Perisic weren’t fit. Murillo can play as RB and with Ansaldi almost fit, we don’t have to see Naga, Dumbo and Rano on the field ever again (unless they come late in the game as subs when the game has been decided).
I agree, I like the 3-4-1-2 specially. But I think FDB finally found a good working formation in the 4-2-3-1 and I doubt he will change it anytime soon. We are creating lots of chances every game, if we could get better fullbacks we would keep clean sheets too. We are always conceding goals because of their mistakes. We can’t always turn around games from 0-1 to 2-1. Likely we did that against Pescara and Juventus. In both those games D’Ambrosio was responsible for the goals.
That so called working formation has only worked for one game and against a team which didn’t defend with 10 players and wait on the counter. We won the Pescara game after a formation switch. And even against Juve it wasn’t exactly a 4-2-3-1 as Eder played closer to Icardi and Banega dropped deeper at times so it was looking like 4-3-2-2.
We aren;t getting fullbacks till January so we might as well bet on our strengths and play with 3 defenders and the Pitbull in front. We could easily switch to 4-2-3-1 during the game if needed by introducing Milangue for Eder and also use that formation for top teams who leave more spaces.

When will Gnoukouri and Miangue start i wonder. Milan are starting Donnarumma (17), Calabria (19) and Romagnoli (20). Why are we so afraid of giving youngsters more chances. Gnou was a beast when he first got chances against Milan and Roma in season 2014/2015 and he didn’t even play almost the whole last season. We already seen Miangue can play good. Even Yao needs to have some chances.
i agree that we must give youth players a chance, but i think now is the worst time possible. let the team adapt and settle with de boer first, then when the team is up and running we can then introduce the youngsters slowly
I don’t see why Miangue couldn’t start a game already. He can’t possibly be worse than Santon, Nagatomo or D’Ambrosio and Gnoukouri already is better than that slow Melo.

young players will develop best when loaned to smaller club.. we can’t risk league game to start them, that’s why many clubs only plays their youngster in domestic cup games.. as for milan, in my opinion they are in a condition like inter was some years ago where we don’t have any quality players so that whenever a youngster play with full of passion, they will look awesome and promising.. remember how livaja was going to be the next vieri? alfred duncan will be our best anchor in midfield? bonazzoli gonna be a big thing, how is he now? just compare those name you mention with another milan players in the same role, you’ll see why they’re shining..
It’s more risky playing players like Nagatomo, D’Ambrosio and Melo in my opinion. It’s guaranteed mistake from these guys every game.
i know but we have ansaldi now and santon is getting better.. melo would have no chance to play unless something happens to medel, kondo and banega at the same time.. lets hope for no serious injury through the season..
Yeah man, am glad Ansaldi is back. Melo replaced Medel in last game. It seems like for FDB he is Medels natural sub. If Medel gets tired or injured or suspended Melo will probably play.

I think this is for the balance reason, it can free up joao Mario. To play.as a playmaker, for me I would have gone with eder perisic and candreva they are Good at helping the team not sow much jojo.
hope to see JoJo and Ansaldi get some playing time. and maybe if we are up by a good margin let gabigol get a few minutes of play!

K Dog isn’t a playmaker. The only player we have that should do well in Banega’s place and his role is Jojo.

Banega’s place on the paper is AMC but on the pitch he moves everywhere and does a lot of defending. Jovetic is not capable of that, you can’t seriously think that he could replace Banega in his role.
Yeah man, i said it before. Team must be balanced. With Jojo it will be too offensive and we will suffer on the defensive. Banega was defending all the way until our own box. Only Joao Mario or Brozovic can replace Banega as AMC, not Jovetic and certainly not Gabigol. So it will probably be Joao Mario who will take Banegas place and Kondogbia will play in Joao Mario’s role along with Medel.
