Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini spoke to 90° Zona Mista regarding outgoing midfielder Roberto Gagliardini.
“Roberto is one the best midfielders in our league,” said the 58 year-old former Inter manager.
“He’s an important player and he’s an important player for the future. He has physicality, athleticism, and important techniques. However, he needs to play. I feel sorry for this and hope that at Inter he has the same continuity he has had with us. He is a major player in all respects.”

Judging from the films I watched from him, he is a physical mismatch, use his long legs to effectively tackle the ball, and an outstanding slide tackler. Having him as a DM might help us to have the right balance to utilize Jao Mario and Banega (our top two midfielders) at the same time.

You are right, I edited that.
There is medel as well, but I think he will be deployed as a centre back rather than a midfielder under pioli.
Although I love Medel and his grit and attitude his play making and shooting ability among with switching the play with long balls is poor. He will be a nice addition to our defense as you said.
Medel has been one of the most consistent players to me. It’s true that he doesn’t have all the skills to be a great DMF( for the reasons you have mentioned) but he fits perfectly as centreback, as his defensive skills are good and because he is good on those quick short passes which can be decisive for inter to initiate an attack from the back line.
Personal – although I really like Banega – i think it’s better with Mario and Brozo. It just adds more power and work-rate. That being said, I would love to be proven that Banega can break through as soon as possible, but IMO he just doesn’t seem like a great fit.
Brozo is more a box-to-box CM rather than a true DM. His defensive workrate and positioning is poor. That’s why a Pioli said that he doesn’t have the right balance to start Banega and Jao Mario together.
Sorry my friend, maybe I’m a bit slow today, but I don’t get your point. Are you saying that Brozo has worse defensive skills and positioning than Banega and that Brozo, Mario and a DM is more unstable than Benaga, Mario and a DM? Because my point was that I would feel a whole lot more secure with Brozo, Mario and a worthy DM…
