They further report that Stefano Pioli has persisted with a Gary Medel-Miranda centre back pairing in training despite Murillo’s recent good form. Marcelo Brozovic will also return to action on Sunday and there’s two possibilities: He could be deployed behind Icardi as an attacking midfielder or take the place of one of Roberto Gagliardini or Geoffrey Kondogbia centrally, leaving them to fight it out for the other central midfield spot.

brozovic is probably our best midfielder. he scores the most and assist the most while being a complete midfielder. not sure where he would start. but benching kondogbia is the most logical solution.
While Brozo has many strengths, defensive midfielder isn’t one of them. All the same, Palermo sucks, so replacing K dog isn’t a big risk.
The offensive power of the team would be impressive.
brozovic has been doing fine pre-January as a defensive midfielder.
Brozovic is moments of brilliance. That is all. Better version of Guarin. I would never choose him over Gaglia, K-dog or Mario.

thats not true at all actually. brozovic is by far our best midfielder this season. scores and does really well in other aspects. a complete midfielder.
He miskicks the ball. Sails 80 percent of his shots wide. Bad decision making. Get’s caught dribbling. Our best midfielder? Hardly. But having said that he does have very good points to. Moments of brilliance as I said.

Id like to see mario play as right wing. Candreva is off lately. Gaglia kondo still in front of defence and brozo or banega as amf.

I agree but keep the 4-2-3-1 while it’s working. Brozo and Mario can switch places during the game and be more unpredictable as both can run into the box as well.

The biggest dilemma right now for Pioli is where to place Brozovic. He could either break up Gagliardogbia (which isn’t an good idea since they’ve been very solid together) or place Joao Mario and Banega on the bench to use Brozo as an attacking midfielder. Very tough decision to make in my opinion as all players are extremely important to the squad. Should be interesting

Easy, choose between Brozo and Kondo based on opponent and play the other as a supersub. Brozo could be sub for Candreva too and switch places with Mario often in order to put defenders under pressure

There is no way that Pioli is dumb enough to start Brozo as AMC while having Jao Mario and Banega. He might eventually try a 4-3-3 with the three guys but I don’t think it is a wise decision to sit our two creative midfielders.
And Murillo is doing fine, he should not touch the starting line up that is winning.

Cause Pioli expect more from his FBs than Mourinho did. Even if we had Chivu (in his prime), Pioli would not had started him. I don’t think in today’s football it works out. Dumbo and Ansaldi are bad, but the stuff that you guys are suggesting are FIFA17 material not the actual football.
Medel can’t play FB, no pace, no crossing. Murillo, on the other hand, has played in that position before and we could finally dump Dumbo.

i disagree, kdog is getting really great, and i understand most of us preferring Gagliardini but, think of it this way, if we can play kdog , he’ll improve so therefore we can get good money out of him
He improves because of Gagliardini. We already saw Kondogbia-Brozo and it’s worse than Kondog-Gagli. So, if Brozo-Gagli is better or as good as Kondog-Gagli, then Kondogbia is our 3rd choice.
