Mauro Icardi may well be suspended for another game but he ensured there was a smile on the face of a young fan on Sunday when he served the first match of his suspension. The young fan’s father had bought tickets for the Empoli game to allow his young son to see his hero but was left distraught by the news of Icardi’s suspension.
The father reached out to Wanda on Twitter sending her the following message:
“Dear Wanda, from a fantastic mother that you are, so attentive to the needs of children, I am asking you for help, I know you receive thousands of requests. I’ve made so many sacrifices to buy tickets for the Empoli match in order to realize my son’s dream to see his “Maurito” live. Unfortunately, we know that destiny would have it another way but I would like to ask you if we can make his dream come true in any way….a dream of a 7 year old child who see Mauro as his unique HERO. He talks about Mauro 24 hours a day and not being able to let him to see Mauro live which would destroy this dream, is heart-wrenching. I am asking you for help Wanda. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and sorry to have disturbed you.

Wanda and Mauro were so moved that they sorted out a meeting with Mauro himself. The father took to social media to thank the Icardi’s saying: “Sometimes a gesture is more important than a goal. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making his dream come true! You are both amazing.”
