After the Caprari operation last summer, Inter does not stop. In fact Inter continues on this road as far as the market. The strategy seems clear: to capture the best Italian football prospects and then evaluate their potential. Daniele Verde, seems to be the latest young Italian target for Inter: the attacker is 20 years old and owned by Roma, however, he is currently out on loan at Avellino. His contract with the Giallorossi expires in 2018, but Roma’s will remains unclear: whether to propose a renewal to the player or to sell him.

Finally, after YEARS of buying overrated foreigners only for the sack of getting in a flashy name, we start looking to Serie B and A talents. Hope we really continue make Inter more Italian!
More Italian? Why? We are Internazionale not Nazionale, we should be looking at Serie A and B young INTERNATIONAL talents not just Italian
more italian is not bad idea though.
It should be (a bad idea)
At anytime we should have at least 4 Italian starters. FIGC is against us, refs are against us, other teams are against us. What have we gained with the likes of Jonathan, Pareira, Belfodil and Nagatomo?
So, we, the team that started as Swiss and Italian players splitting from the team and forming a new one AGAINST EVERYBODY, just to protest against the preference that were given to Italian players…. Should just go and give preference to Italian players because everybody is against us… Yeah that sounds logic
Also I said SERIE A AND B young international players… Jonathan was brought from Brazilian League, Pereira was brought from Portuguese League, Nagatomo wasn’t young when bought, and Belfodil wasn’t given a fair chance so we don’t know about him.
No more preference to Italians please!!
The name internazionale was chosen not because of 20 foreigners in the team, but for 2 or 3 non Italians. The team is still Italian and must have an Italian backbone.
why?
I´m not saying we should go for only Italians but the “only” focusing on foreigners we have practicing for years have simply back fired.. in order to bring a club´s culture, the wining mentality from one generation to the next you need players who feel and care for the club. Foreigners look at Inter as a great club, and a great way to earn some good money but just as easy play for Chelsea or Psg or whomever.
Juve have been on top for years because of their Italians players! They have been at the club “always” and have help new Italians to settle and foreigners to understand what it means to play for them – teaching them the winning mentality we have been lacking ever since our triple squad were sold off….
Getting the best Italians plus 4-5 quality foreigners is the way forward!
Backfired? I mean it’s in the more recent years that we managed to get the triplete AND it was done with only ONE Italian on the team (Motta who is not even born in Italy) and you know what? We were fine. You need players who feel and care for the club? Only Italians care? So Zanetti must be fake, or Milito, Chivu maybe is faking his love for the team, being Italian is a requisite to really care for Inter? Then maybe Cassano, Vieri, Balotelli, Pazzini, Poli, Cannavaro, Pirlo they all must be Japanese or Russian…
Juve have been on top because it’s better managed (just look at their stadium, marketing, etc) AND they buy referees it has nothing to do with Italian players on the team.
What you are describing is exactly the kind of mentality that led those players to split from the team, it IS giving preference to a player because of his nationality (Italian in this case) and thinking that the place one is born or raised directly influences the player’s quality.
Winning mentality is not exclusive to Italians you know? Else be kind to tell me how many Italians play in Brazil and Germany national teams.
It backfired because we hadn´t anyone in the squad to continue the winning mentality when our old world class players were sold off, retired or what ever. Every club need that; someone in the squad, a group of players to teach the new comers what it means to be at the club.
I´m saying an Italian will always be willing to give his right arm to play for one of the biggest teams in Serie A rather than go abroad. For an Italian (just like an Spaniard or English man) his own league and his teams in his own country are the best in the world. And every child in Italy knows Inter, Juve and Milan and would kill to play for one of these 3 big. That´s the mentality we need, someone ready to sacrifice himself for the team, someone who never complains when not playing – threatening to leave through his agent like all the forigners around.
What made Utd win it all for years and keept them on top were not only the stars; Beckham, Cantona, Ronaldo, Schmeichel, Stamp, Keane, Giggs but also and actually just as important the players on the bench willing to play in every position at every time, never complaining about a thing because they knew that they were at the biggest club in Brittian! Players like O’Shea, Wes Brown and daren fletcher!
Besides our name doesn’t refer to us being a team that HAS to be made up by foreigners, only that everyone is welcome at Inter.
