Stefano Pioli held a training session at Appiano Gentile today ahead of Saturday’s away fixture against Torino at the Stadio Olimpico with kick-off schedule for 18.00 CET.
According to Sky Sport, Stefano Pioli continued with yesterday’s test of reinserting Marcelo Brozovic and Joao Mario into the starting line-up in the 4-2-3-1 formation. The Croatian midfielder was played next to Gagliardini in midfield with the Portuguese international replacing Banega just behind Icardi up front flanked by Candreva and Perisic on either side.
However, Sky report that despite having utilized the aforementioned formation 2 training sessions in a row Stefano Pioli will have a difficult time to remove Kondogbia and Banega given the fantastic form both players are in currently.

I think what’s happening is the exact ,perfect opposite:
Pioli has found a starting XI with the right level of chemistry and he feels safe about that now..but he knows that,for the long haul,he will necessarily need to get a lot from another 4 or 5 players,at least .
So he is working hard at keeping them warm ,feeling important and ready to go.
Namely:
Murillo,Brozovic, Joao Mario,Eder.
Too bad we don’t have any decent replacement for the 2 left back.
That is why he might have to go back to the 3 defense,in case of emergency,but now ,I believe,he has found the right team and he knows it.
Unless Kdog and Banega break their feet, they should not be replaced for this upcoming match. They have a chance to keep their momentum going and were both so vital for our win last week.
I personally think Pioli has a soft spot for Brozovic. Imo Brozo should only replace Benaga or Mario. He isn’t suited for that Deeper role and doesn’t get back enough to play there.
We need to keep everyone that matters happy. This includes Mario, Brozo, and Eder but certainly NOT GranpaLacio!

Why remove Banega and Kondogbia when they are in form? We will suffer when Brozo is not playing high intensity for a few weeks. I have a big hope in this game, so we need to use keep our current winning formation unless there is any fatigues.

These are nothing but the usual Tuesday and Wednesday tests ,while giving some of the starting XI a little breather and different training programs.
I hope to see Kondogbia to score his second goal against Torino. His first one was at Turin last season, wasn’t it?
