Roberto Mancini spoke to the Sunday Post on a number of possibilities for his future:
On managing Celtic…
“The Scottish fans are the best in the world, I love them. It would be nice to see Celtic and Rangers in the Premier League, but I do not think that will ever happen, because it would be the end of Scottish football. However, if Celtic were to build a strong enough team to compete in Europe, in the Champions League, I might decide to coach there, I would love to. Winning the Scottish Premier League has become normal for them. They have fans and history. Now they have become a major club in Europe.”
On managing the national team…
“In the future I would like to coach the Azzurri. To train your national team is the crowning achievement of any coaches career. For the moment, though, I want to continue working with clubs.”
On managing abroad…
“I do not think I will ever manage in China. They called me, but I said no because, for me, the real football is in Europe. An experience abroad I would like, however, Maybe in Spain or France. I’ve been in England and won with City, but if the right offer came I would think about it.”
He also spoke on present day:
On Inter…
“A year and a half of work was thrown away, it was very disappointing. I think if I had stayed we would have been very close to Juventus now.”
On English football and former club Leicester City…
It takes time to get used to English football, to the lifestyle of the players, to the diet. A period of acclimatisation is normal, but then the quality comes out. Italy, however, produces the best coaches the world from a tactical point of view. Antonio Conte is doing very well with Chelsea, although it must be said that he inherited a very good team. After Carlo Ancelotti, me and Claudio Ranieri he could be the fourth Italian to win the Premier League. I’m sorry for the sacking of Ranieri from Leicester. What he did was more than a sports miracle, it was something really unique. So, personally, I would not have sacked him. There was talk of me as his successor, but it was not true at all.”
On Pep Guardiola…
“At City now Guardiola is now there, and is having problems. In Barcelona Pep had Messi, Iniesta and a phenomenal team. In Germany he won with Bayern Munich but the Bavarians always win. In England the story is different, because there may be six clubs fighting for the title. I’m still surprised, Manchester City has the best team.”

Relegation would have been more probable
atleast he didn’t sue us this time, props to him for that
how he dares to speak like that, I may not like Rube, but they are doing a good job from their end, playing in CL and winning the serie A for like… anyway with Mancio I did not see anything especial, he was playing with numbers get 1 goal and park the bus.. fuc.. that shut- Pioli is a better coach, not just because he has better players now, he is working on the motivation side and has the willingness to continue scoring until the end of the game- I’ve been following our beloved team since long time ago and with him our team is shining!
I think so too, being very close to rube with mancini, because mancini is an ultra defensive coach,he focuses highly on..(was going to say “defensive duties” of the team but i will opt for “NOT ATTACKING” the oppenent for the sake of having many players in his own half)..these kind of tactics may work in serie A..but it’s dead dull and uninspiring, not to forget that it will not help the squad grow in quality.
I was one of the happiest interista in the world when i knew Mancini has left Inter and was really happy with the appointment of De Boer.De Boer.. meant Inter will adopt “Total football” tactics and abandon its traditional “Catenaccio”..it meant Inter will start in time to play attractive football, and I was happy for that reason.Unfortunately, patience is not a thing in serie A..and anyone in his right mind will know that De Boer will suck at the first season..he’s bound to suck, but changing regime always takes time to settle in..there will always be a period of total anarchy. This was happening..all what was needed was patience, and there was none.De Boer to me remains a missed opportunity, an opportunity to see Inter play attractive and yet effective football.
Mancio’s first day at new club…..
“So Roberto….any requests to make your first day a good one?”

Well after all the negativaty we heard of last summer and him complaining about players not arriving I kind of doubt that he had been motivated enough to bring us into top 3!
What Pioli has brought to the team is enthusiasm, motivation and a will to fight for the player next to him on the pitch something the players had lacked for a while
