In the upcoming January transfer window, Inter will be working both with and against Spanish giants Barcelona according to a report from Turin based news outlet Tuttosport.
Inter are working with Barcelona in order to try and find an agreement for winger Gerard Deulofeu. Deulofeu would meet Inter boss Luciano Spalletti’s request to have more options on the wing who are first team ready with only Ivan Perisic and Antonio Candreva currently able to do so. The Spaniard is no stranger to Serie A football having spent six months on loan with city rivals Milan last season.
However, the Nerazzurri and Blaugrana are working against one another when it comes to Lazio defender Stefan de Vrij. Both clubs have identified the Dutchman as the ideal player to reinforce their respective defences. Inter are favourites within Italy to sign the 25-year-old but competition from abroad, particularly from Barcelona themselves does not make them outright favourites for the former Feyenoord man’s signature.
