Inter Have Raised €51.5 Million From Sales To Meet FFP Requirements

Inter have reached their first goal for the season by breaking through the wall of €45 million in player sales that was necessary in order to avoid further penalties from UEFA.

Italian sports newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport defines the job from Inter management as “a masterpiece” and indeed it was a tough job to collect the €45 million needed, especially considering that the club did not sell any of their biggest players.

“With twelve sales,” they write, “Inter have raised €51.5 million and thus avoided any dark clouds in the foreseeable future. Money did not only come from selling young stars (most of the sales had a buy-back clause) but also from the redemption of Valencia for Kondogbia and Murillo and also Francesco Bardi to Frosinone (producing a capital gain of around €1 million), as well as the contract renewals for Bastoni, Dalbert and Vecino – all of whom have extended their contracts by one year – which have helped to lower amortization figures for the coming seasons.”
