With Inter’s new signings, the opportunity to experiment with more formations is now there and could see Inter swap between their tried and tested 4-2-3-1 with a 3-4-2-1 formation throughout the coming season Corriere dello Sport hypothesise.
In a 4-2-3-1, Radja Nainggolan will play in his preferred role and will be deployed behind club captain Mauro Icardi and will have Ivan Perisic and Antonio Candreva on the wings beside him.
In a 3-4-2-1, the back line will be made up by Milan Skriniar, Miranda and Stefan de Vrij. Kwadwo Asamoah and Antonio Candreva will play as wing backs in the system, Marcelo Brozovic and Roberto Gagliardini will form the central midfield and Nainggolan and Perisic will play as the two attacking players behind Icardi.
Tactical experimentation can be expected to take place over the course of the six friendly games announced over the course of pre-season and Inter’s first chance to experiment comes on July 14 when they face Swiss side Lugano.
