Dalbert, Gagliardini & Vecino Risk Being Excluded From Inter’s Champions League Squad

Inter has continued to work hard on this summer’s transfer market and they have done it well. But with the arrivals of Sime Vrsaljko and Arturo Vidal, two signings that were stated as the last ones in order to complete the transfer market, a problem arises.

With regards to the Serie A, there is room for a third player, but for the Champions League someone has to be left out. Italian sports paper La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Inter, due to the restrictions set forth in UEFA’s Financial Fair Play rules, are restricted to a 22-man list where there has to be an economic balance between the transfer fee paid for players bought and sold.

This was not the case two years ago when Inter played in the Europa League. If that was not enough, two of those spots are reserved for players from the youth sector so the list is actually applicable to only 20 players, which means that with the arrivals of Vrsaljko and Vidal two players have to be cut from the list.

With the balanced budget variable Inter has added Skriniar, Martinez, Nainggolan and the last two arrivals which means that the two economically heavy purchases, Gagliardini and Dalbert could be left out of the list.
