After Avellino’s status in Serie B has changed, former Inter Primavera keeper Michele Di Gregorio, will find himself and a few other teammates free from their contracts and ready to find new teams.
Di Gregorio has had an increased amount of interest from Pescara in an accelerated attempt to bring him to their squad. They remain the frontrunners along with Catania, who are also interested in Di Gregorio’s services from Serie C.
Avellino failed to register for Serie B this upcoming season, however, they are not the only team in Serie B to have issues. Bari and Cesena were also mentioned as they declared bankrupt and will be forced to start in Serie D.
Avellino had appealed the decision but the appeal was thrown out. They now appealed with TAR and are waiting for a decision. If TAR denies the appeal, once again, Avellino will have to register for Serie C.
