Italian football pundit Xavier Jacobelli spoke with RMC Sport on Inter’s continued interest in Real Madrid’s Luka Modric.
“The player has received an attractive offer, both from an economic point of view and from a project point of view, for Inter it would be a great signing, but Florentino Perez can not afford to let Modric go, after losing Cristiano Ronaldo and Zidane, unless they sign a top player that could be Milinkovic-Savic.”
Jacobelli proceeded to heap praise on Inter new boy Lautaro Martinez who has scored three goals during pre-season.
Lautaro Martinez seems to coexist well with Icardi. He has the technical characteristics to play with Icardi and is able to bring variation to Inter’s attack. He has been the best surprise of Inter’s preseason.”
Jacobelli concluded by revealing he believes it is “almost impossible” for Rafinha to make a return to the Nerazzurri where he spent the second half of last season.
“Rafinha returning is difficult, as said by Ariedo Braida, director of Barcelona, it is almost impossible for the player to expect a return to Serie A.”
