Keita Balde’s agent Roberto Calenda spoke on his client’s move to Inter which is on the verge of completion after the player underwent his medical this morning and firstly discussed how the move first came about.
“At the end of last season, one evening at dinner talking to him I realised that Keita had an outstanding goal scoring account in Italy and that those 16 goals for Lazio were not the pinnacle of his Serie A career, but only the beginning: everything was born from there,” he said in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.
He proceeded to speak about Monaco and Keita’s ambitions.
“Monaco should be thanked: they gave Keita back his smile, serenity and carefreeness after years of tension and promises made and never kept by Lazio’s board.
“I’m not surprised they [Monaco] let him leave: the deal could benefit everyone involved. The player still wants to explode in the country where he’s grown as a footballer, and at 23 it’s the perfect time for him.”
Calenda concluded by speaking on the importance of Inter manager Luciano Spalletti.
“Spalletti? He’s the perfect person at the perfect moment. He can help Keita make the definitive step-up in his career.”
