Inter are understood to be interested in Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini according to a report from CalcioMercato.com.
Pellegrini saw interest from reigning Serie A champions Juventus during the summer and CalcioMercato.com understand that Inter have been working on a deal for the midfielder, who has a €30 million release clause in his contract, in secret.
However, the report goes on to suggest that the capital city club have absolutely zero intention of giving up the 22-year-old Italian international and are at work on trying to renew with him and remove the release clause from his contract entirely to give them more power when it comes to selling him if it comes to it.
In the next transfer window in January, Inter will specifically target the signing of a young midfielder to further bolster that area of the pitch and Pellegrini could just well be that player they decide to go after.
