Inter are at work on drafting up a new contract for star defender Milan Skriniar according to a report from FCInternews.it.
The Slovakian defender is already under contract for a further four years but his performances have attracted interest from some of the top European clubs and Inter are keen to deter that interest by signing him to a new and improved contract.
According to the report, Inter were hoping to sign him to a €2.5 million a season deal while he and his representatives were hoping for €3.5 million. In the end, his new salary is likely to be somewhere closer to the €3 million mark instead with easily obtainable bonuses attached.
Skriniar joined Inter in the summer of 2017 and far surpassed any expectations anyone had of him and has cemented a place within manager Luciano Spalletti’s squad. Since his arrival at the Nerazzurri, the 23-year-old has made 42 appearances and scored a total of four goals.
