After having helped Inter defeat Lazio 3-0 away in the Serie A at a rainy Stadio Olimpico, Portuguese international midfielder Joao Mario stopped by Italian broadcaster SportMediaset to share his thoughts on the win.
The former Sporting player was asked if he expected to play to which he replied: “I was also surprised. The coach always says that we should always be ready, I am happy. We managed to get a beautiful win against an opponent that are not easy to play against, the team is doing well.”
“I want to thank the fans for applauding me, I want to continue to do well with confidence” he continued before stating that “I hope that we will win the Serie A but we know that it wont be easy but we will try.”
Moments later Joao Mario reiterated his gratitude to Inter fans by stating that: “The applause made me happy, I want to thank them for their faith. Now I need to continue working hard.”
