Matteo Politano shared his delight in an interview with Inter TV after Inter’s 1-1 draw with Barcelona and firstly discussed his initial ball that eventually found its way to Mauro Icardi to score the equalising goal.
“I wanted to hit it differently than I did but we were up against a strong defence and put them in difficulty.
We are happy because we have proved to be a great team and that we can even give Barcelona a scare. At this moment they are very strong but at home we have a spectacular support that helps us.
“We put them in trouble and could have had two or three goals. Barcelona made us run a lot and were good at dribbling so the start for us was not easy. In the second half we took the appropriate measures. We have to build on the second half where we performed at high levels with great pressure and good ball possession.”
Politano concluded by returning to speaking about the fans.
“When you go out with all these people applauding you it is something indescribable, we always give our best to make them happy.”
