Spalletti Safe For Now But Without Securing Champions League He’ll Be At Risk

According to a report from Corriere dello Sport, Luciano Spalletti’s job as Inter manager is safe for now but should he be unable to guide Inter back in to the Champions League for next season then it could be different.

In the worst case scenario wherein Spalletti fails to guide Inter to the Champions League it will be almost inevitable that he will lose his job and Beppe Marotta could look to bring in Antonio Conte to replace him on the bench at San Siro.

The Rome based newspaper have also examined the financial damage brought on by Inter’s Champions League exit

Inter’s premature elimination from the Champions League in mid-week has cost them about €20 million in revenue and in order to make this up, they will have to reach the final of the Europa League. Big name signings therefore will not be made until the summer. The report goes on to state Inter are considering Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Sandro Tonali and Nicolo Barella for the midfield.
