Despite various reports stating the possibility of a transfer, Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia will not be moving to Empoli according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Milan based newspaper detail that the Italian centre back’s salary is too big for the Azzurri who will now be forced to look at other names to strengthen their defence.
Ranocchia’s zero appearances this season has been the basis for many reports suggesting he could move on from the Nerazzurri, who he has played 188 times for since debuting back in 2011.
The 21-time Italian international also has an expiring contract at San Siro which has further heightened speculation about a possible exit from the club.
With speculation mounting about Miranda’s future with the club, Inter may not be so keen to deal Ranocchia even if offers arrive due to possibly needing to call on him if the Brazilian were to leave during this window.
