Inter Calm On Godin Front As Atletico Madrid Fans Attempt To Convince Him To Remain

Atletico Madrid fans will today try to convince Diego Godin to stay but it will not be an easy task to make the club change its course, Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport explains.

“If nothing exceptional should happen, Godin will arrive at Inter this Summer on a free transfer. He will get a two-year contract worth €5.5 million (including bonuses) per year with the option to extend the contract for another year. So, Inter is calm, knowing that they have signed one of the strongest central defenders in the game and a leader of both Atletico Madrid and the Uruguayan national team.”

But it does not stop there as the Milan based newspaper also talks about other market objectives of the Nerazzurri.

“Marotta and Ausilio will meet, not only in order to sort out the Icardi situation, but also to try to find a solution that would bring Udinese’s Rodrigo de Paul to Inter for €25 million. On the agenda there is also new meetings with Chievo regarding youth team players but most of all the joint venture in purchasing goalkeeper Gabriel Brazao of Cruzeiro since Inter is out of non-EU slots. Should that cooperation go through, the goalkeeper could join Inter in the summer. Finally Inter management is waiting for the entourage of Joao Miranda: the Brazilian wants to leave, but without an actual offer on the table, Inter play hardball.”
