The debate about Mauro Icardi ‘liking’ the post by Joao Cancelo on Instagram celebrating the victory of Juventus in Naples has already been talked about yesterday, but it certainly will not have pleased the Inter fans.
The Gazzetta dello Sport today goes further. The timing of this incident is perhaps important because the message posted by Cancelo on Instagram was just before or shortly after the meeting between Spalletti, Dr. Corsini and Icardi in Appiano, where the Argentine has confirmed he does not feel ready yet to return to training. In short, it is an unprofessional attitude that the fans are clearly not happy with.
A comment has immediately outlined the social media presence of Mauro by saying: “This game of likes is getting out of hand.”
There are a few possibilities, for instance that Mauro does not realise what he is doing, or did he perhaps decide to provoke the club by actually putting himself against the fans?
The version of events that the player’s entourage filtered through this afternoon is that Mauro wanted to pay homage to the sentence chosen by Cancelo without realising that it was a Juventus celebration.
However the “little heart” has never been removed from the post and it has certainly stoked an already burning fire.
