According to a report from La Repubblica, another meeting between Mauro Icardi and Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta has been scheduled for after Marotta’s return from Germany where he currently is for tonight’s Europa League match against Eintracht Frankfurt.
The pair met yesterday in what the club described as a ‘cordial’ meeting ‘in search of a solution to satisfy the best interests of all involved.’
As per the report, the captain’s armband or economic factor is no longer the focal point of the saga and there will be a truce agreed to until the end of the season when they will then more than likely part ways.
It goes on to state that Marotta appears in a conciliatory mood with the Argentine striker: “The past is the past, we are look for the best formula to get things back in line,” he is reported to have said after the meeting.
