Mauro Icardi still needs to sort out his differences with his Inter teammates after moving closer to a return to action on Friday, Corriere della Sera reported today.
Icardi has softened his stance towards the club after CEO Beppe Marotta held two meetings with the striker, agent Wanda Nara and legal representative Paolo Nicoletti this week.
However, before he can be fully reintegrated into the Nerazzurri’s squad he will need to clear the air with Inter’s dressing room and coach Luciano Spalletti once and for all.
Friday’s meeting between Marotta and Nicoletti was described as ‘fruitful’ by both parties as they attempt to resolve a saga which has threatened to derail Inter’s season.
They will require at least one more discussion to reach a definitive solution, though.
“Inter need everybody to move forward together in this story,” the paper wrote.
“They cannot make progress unless the coach and the team are involved as well.
“Icardi has understood he needs to soften his position and the club are doing everything they can to ‘recover’ an important player, in a period of the season where Spalletti is down to the bare bones in attack.”
Icardi will once again be unavailable on Sunday as Inter take on SPAL at San Siro.
