Progress in talks between Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta and The Icardi’s laywer Paolo Nicoletti will not be made until after the Milan derby according to a report from La Repubblica.
The Icardi’s took the decision to employ Nicoletti in a bid to help find a solution to the ongoing saga between themselves and the club that has been going on for a month now.
Icardi has not played for Inter since February 9 and is officially out with a knee injury but it remains a complete mystery as to when he will return, if at all.
He was stripped of the Inter captaincy on February 13 and blames Inter manager Luciano Spalletti and the Croatian members of the team for this.
The report from the Rome based newspaper goes on to detail that the chances of Icardi remaining with Inter past this season are growing increasingly weaker as time passes, no matter whether Spalletti remains or not.
Both Real Madrid and Inter’s arch-rivals Juventus have been mentioned as possible next destinations for the 26-year-old in recent days/weeks.
