Matias Vecino spoke with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport following Inter’s 3-2 win over city rivals Milan in which he opened the scoring.
“We tried our best to forget the game on Thursday in Europe. We could not repeat that game. Instead we started well and created difficulties for Milan.
The Uruguayan midfielder was then asked if he would like to play in the same role as he did in the game in the future.
“That is for the coach to decide,” he continued. “Let’s see if I get to do it again in the future, I feel good.”
“When I play deeper in the midfield I am much further away from the box and I lose my fluidity but in the role I played I was a lot more fluid and comfortable.”
He concluded by speaking on the race for Champions League qualification: “To qualify for the Champions League we must remain united.”
