This weekend Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni will make a return to former club Atalanta with loan club Parma and in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian has shared his thoughts on this.
“It will be a very heartfelt and exciting match for me because I was not there to play in the reverse fixture at the Azzurri d’Italia because I was injured,” he said.
“It will be very strange to play against my former team but on the field there are no friends.
“Gasperini is the person who first believed in me and he is the coach who gave me my first team debut. I owe him everything.
Bastoni is due to return to Inter at the end of the season but was tight-lipped when it came to his future although he did discuss the prospect of playing with Diego Godin at the Nerazzurri.
“I do not like to talk about my future because it doesn’t depend on me.
“The chance to play with Godin at Inter? He is a great defender and I hope I can play with him very soon. ”
He concluded the interview by speaking if he has any players in particular he looks to.
“I don’t have a precise reference, I try to take the best from everyone from Sergio Ramos to someone like De Ligt of Ajax, who is the same age as me.”
