According to British tabloid newspaper The Sun, Arsenal have identified Cagliari’s Nicolo Barella as the man they wish to sign to replace the departing Aaron Ramsey.
Welsh international Ramsey is headed for Juventus once his contract with the Gunners expires at the end of the current campaign and Arsenal therefore obviously need a replacement.
As per the report, the north London club had a scout present during Cagliari’s 2-0 home defeat against reigning champions Juventus.
SportMediaset however report that any club other than Inter is not of any interest to Barella who has set his sights on a Summer switch to the Nerazzurri.
Inter have met with Cagliari’s president Tomasso Giulini on multiple occasions already to hold talks over Italy star Barella, who has an evaluation of €50 million.
As per the broadcaster, Giulini is adamant that Barella will not leave Sardinia unless that fee is paid in full and he will not accept any players as part of a deal in an attempt to bring the price down.
