Icardi’s Future Almost Certainly Lies Away From Inter

According to a report from Tuttosport, Inter striker Mauro Icardi’s future lies almost certainly away from the club.

The 26-year-old striker only returned to first team action last Wednesday following two controversy filled months out after he was stripped of the Inter captaincy.

The Turin based newspaper detail that for the time being however any talk on his future is currently postponed as evidenced by the pre-match comments of Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta: “He is an Inter player and has to play in the best way, so let’s just talk about the present. There’s time to consider the future.”

Due to Lautaro Martinez’s injury, Icardi has started in each of Inter’s last two games – in which he has scored one goal – but Tuttosport state that Lautaro Martinez could be back for the Frosinone game and could return to being the starting striker, a role he carried out very well in Icardi’s absence.
