Former Inter Manager Mancini On VAR: “Next Year Every Handball Will Be A Penalty…”

Italian national team and former Inter manager Roberto Mancini addressed the gathered media following the announcement that the partnership between Radio Italia and FIGC, the Italian football federation, had been renewed.

Firstly Mancini shared his thoughts on VAR.

“From next year the problem of handballs will no longer exist because every handball will be be a penalty… . The experience with VAR has otherwise been positive,” he remarked.

He then spoke on the competitiveness in Serie A this term.

It is a beautiful thing that several teams are there fighting for fourth place, as well as for survival. The league aside from first place is open until the end.”

Mancini then proceeded to discuss how the Italian national team has progressed during his tenure.

“Our national team has recently started doing good but must improve a lot still, I still have a year and a half contract and we will have to understand where we can go.”
