Ranocchia On Verge Of Signing Contract Extension With Inter

In the coming weeks, Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia will put pen-to-paper on a contract extension with the club according to a report from FCInterNews.it.

Only the final details need to be ironed out before the two-year extension can be officially announced by the club.

Ranocchia will take a reduction in salary to prolong his stay with the Nerazzurri and his salary will drop down to €1.5 million per year.

His ability to always be ready and respond when called upon is understood to be one of the main reasons behind the club’s decision to tie him down for a few more years.

He is incredibly valued by Luciano Spalletti as well as Antonio Conte, who has been strongly linked with becoming Inter manager.

With Conte’s 3-5-2, there is a need to have lots of defensive cover and therefore there may be more opportunities for Ranocchia to take to the field if Conte comes in.

This season the 31-year-old has made seven appearances across all competitions in which he has grabbed himself one goal.
