Mauro Icardi’s X-rated social media photos are a sign of the striker’s ‘immaturity’ and will cause big problems within the Inter dressing room, according to a leading sports psychologist.
Icardi is back in the media spotlight as the Nerazzurri prepare to face Udinese tonight, having spent the week publishing nude pictures with wife and agent Wanda Nara on Instagram.
Gazzetta dello Sport reported today both the club and the Argentine’s team-mates are annoyed at his conduct, and one neuropsychiatrist believes the rumours make sense.
“These pictures are a classic case of immaturity,” Vincenzo Prunelli told the Milanese publication in an interview.
“From outside I get the impression he’s a person who allows himself to be influenced and guided by others. For sure I don’t think he’s the architect of all this.
“I think Icardi creates a bad image for himself and this can cause a lot of problems within a dressing room. It also makes life very difficult for a manager.
“In the long term this sort of behaviour can tire people out and will just annoy his team-mates. This is how you create the conditions for Icardi to be resented inside the dressing room.
“When you’re an important player like he is you can fall into the trap of thinking: ‘I’m the most important man here and I can do what I want’.”
Icardi is expected to start from the substitutes bench this evening when Inter play Udinese at the Dacia Arena.
