Inter Boss Spalletti Likely To Pick Icardi & Borja Valero Against Chievo

Mauro Icardi and Borja Valero are in line to return to Inter’s starting XI when the Nerazzurri face Chievo on Monday.

Luciano Spalletti’s side must beat the already-relegated outfit to remain in control of the race for Champions League qualification, but Danilo D’Ambrosio, Stefan De Vrij and Marcelo Brozovic will all miss the game.

Valero will replace Brozovic in midfield after the Croatian triggered a one-match suspension with a booking against Udinese, while Icardi will step in for Lautaro as they continue to share Inter’s one spot up front.

Cedric Soares is expected to deputise for D’Ambrosio at right-back while Miranda will come in for De Vrij, who has a muscular injury.

Matias Vecino remains in doubt for the match at San Siro but reports on Friday morning suggested the Uruguayan should recover for a place on the substitutes bench.

Inter’s probable XI (4-2-3-1): Handanovic; Cedric, Skriniar, Miranda, Asamoah; Gagliardini, Borja Valero; Politano, Nainggolan, Perisic; Icardi.
