Inter Want To Sell Radja Nainggolan Due To Belgian’s Off-Field Antics

Inter’s decision to put Radja Nainggolan on the market this summer is down to concerns regarding the Belgian’s off-field antics, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Nainggolan is considered a top player both by the club and new head coach Antonio Conte, who tried to sign the Ninja while in charge of Juventus and Chelsea.

However, the 30-year-old’s erratic lifestyle does not meet the new standards Conte will impose on his squad.

“Given that it’s difficult, if not impossible, to imagine Nainggolan changing the habits he developed while playing for Roma, Inter have decided it would be better to part ways,” the paper reported today.

Roma have been linked with an attempt to bring Nainggolan back but it is more likely the player will be sold abroad, with Inter needing €30 million to avoid a net loss.

Inter will struggle to find a buyer at that price, though, meaning Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio are having to consider a loan with an option to buy.

Nainggolan will nevertheless turn up at preseason training alongside Mauro Icardi on 7 July, but he will not take part in tactical drills or preseason friendlies.

Corriere dello Sport described the idea of a swap deal with Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal as ‘extremely unlikely’.
